DLA-suspicious, what are they up to?

I just got a DLA form for 'extra help for getting around', which I realised is what used to be the mobility element of DLA.

My DS isn't 3 until next year though so I wasn't expecting the form so early.
I telephoned DLA to ask about it and found out that if I complete the form they will re-assess the care element of our DLA, as there are care related questions on the form.

But we our original letter saying our care payments are set until 2015.

Is this a sneaky way of re-assessing to reduce payments? Am I paranoid?

Although awards may be for several years - like you is to 2015, they are always subject to random reviews. Some peoplewill get several others will bebe lucky and never get one. It isn't anything new.

If you do have to complete it (and I'm not clear if you do) you could wait until the last minute and you can also write 'no change since last application' on the care sections.

They aren't being sneaky. They always send forms out 6 months before they are due, so that you have time to fill them in.

We got this for dd2, I didn't fill it in as she would only get LR mobility anyways and she had been awarded HR care for 5 years so didn't want to risk losing it as it was paying for her specialist nursery.
