What age group is ABA aimed at?

My DS is 10. I have been looking into ABA as a method that we might be able to introduce at home to help with his aggression.
Is it aimed at much younger children though?
Also do we have to take him to a specialist, or can we implement this system at home ourselves?

ABA isn't a programme, it's the science of behaviour and implemented in industry, prisons, marketing, drug rehabilitation etc.

Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention is ABA for little kids - generally. Provided you get a behavioural consultant with experience/qualifications working with 10 year olds then you should find you get a lot of help.

You can implement ABA yourself but it would be sensible to do it under the guidance of a consultant.

Agree its for any age. I notice a lot of adult placements seem to use it even when the same councils have spent years refusing to allow it / fund it in their schools!

There is a plain English explanation of ABA and VB on a website called beyondautism - section called "what is ABA " "what is VB " under "Our Approach" I think.
