I have no idea how it compares to the Vantage Lite (which DS1 uses for LAMP) but the screen shots look very similar. DS1 didn't get on at all with Proloquo2go but has done amazingly well with LAMP. For example this morning he told me that he wants the CD that is in the car to be played in the kitchen. And he told me that next week he isn't going to school in my car and he isn't seeing our direct payment worker but he's going to school. And in October his grandparents are visiting and staying in a hotel. And so on and so forth.

This level of communication was utterly unavailable to him prior to LAMP. I have a link to my blog on my profile if anyone wants to see LAMP in use (there are some videos) but definitely worth checking out the app as well if you're interested. It's still not cheap - but it's a lot cheaper than the Vantage Lite. Incidentally I suspect the programming etc required for LAMP might be more complicated than that of category based AAC systems which is probably why it's more expensive than some other systems.

LAMP UK who run workshops which I think might be free (??? not sure ???)

Actually only available in the US and Canada so far:

Thanks for this.
I think I told you I have arranged LAMP training in our area in the next few weeks.
I've got it in a BIG place and have thrown it open to everyone.
I don't want to say publically exactly where I am but if anyone living roughly in the North West (I'm about 90 mins. from Chester) would like to come along or knows someone who would, please message me and I shall give you full details.
Smile

That's fab moondog. I can't believe how much new language ds1 is coming out with all the time now. It's really been a big key for unlocking languge development for him. And it is with him the whole time- he carries it round with him all the time, I've even heard him
using it to talk to himself (commenting on YouTube videos). He even plugs it in to charge up last thing at night - not instructed by me, he started that one himself.

Fantastic.
I'm really excited about it.
We'll have a big R&D presence too as will be in a seat of learning.
Colleagues there kindly allowed us to use the premises.

He's currently sat next to me (I am meant to be working) telling me he needs to take his 'swimtrunks' (one word, American accent) to school next Wednesday and Friday (he's right, he does and I had completely forgotten he needs them on Wednesday - useful thing speech!).
