ive got all my paperwork tohether - appealing parts 2 3 and 4 - have been offered a school place so have all that paperwirk as well - just how much do i need to write in the inital appeal - i was just going to say part 2 doesnt state all his needs (lea refuse to accept private ot report plus no salt report was done ) part 3 doesnt specify or quanitify anything and part 4 - well current school cannot meet his needs and are only accepting him back in sept as an interim placement until a new school can be found - lea did accept that current school cannot meet his needs so new school placement needed but wont tell me which schools they would accept and have now just increased his hours to full time even though he can only cope with school part time and they think if he sees autism outreach she can cure him even though she has not yet managed to see him in 18 months despite numerous requests. lea also promised that he would see an NHS OT over the summer so lea could get a report for balance and absolutely nothing has happened!

i could write war and peace at this stage but then also dont want to give the lea all of arguments on a plate so they can prepare counter arguments - we have booked him to have an updated Ot report, salt and ed psych reports - want to get it off asap but dont know if writing too little is a good thing or writing too much is a bad thing - help!!!!!

We had same dilemma as you and in the end did list everything that was wrong with statement pointing out inconsistencies with reports in appendices and illogical conclusions La were drawing from those reports. It wasn't quite war and peace but 4 pages of argument plus our version of how statement should read with footnote brief justifications for all the changes. In our case LA conceded before tribunal but whichever way you choose to play it, it always feels like a bit of a gamble. It may help that you have some fresh reports to come in between now and the tribunal so you can add fresh arguments if necessary. Good luck whatever you decide.

Have sent war & peace, know its far too much info and gives LEA scope to argue. But ipsea were shut and i can't be ar*d with game playing, hopefully tribunal will spot who's reliable and who is trying to fool them.
