she has to go back next week for a full assessment to find her age appropiate speech. she is missing the end of words of (eg house = hou ) and she didnt understand a couple of the cards they were working with (a picture of a dog tied up and a horse jumping over a fence) so the SALT wants to see her again.

i honestly thought they'd tell me her speech was fine, as she has come on so much lately, but deep down i knew it wasnt right.

so once again, i am not imagining things.

misdee its all a muddle isn't it?
I cmae out of our sessions with more questions tha answers.
The thing that pissed me off the most was dd's name, she has a shortened pet name which we have used from day one.
The SLT called her by her full name so dd appeared not to know her own name.
DD also used to miss the end of words off, I encouraged her to repeat both sounds even now we say girafee - dd will say djarf
but if we separate and repeat she will say gi raffe, slowly she is recording this and reusing the correct word almost perfectly. I@m not sure if its approved technique, I'm winging it somewhat as it appears the county SALT dept has f**ked off entirely, not only cna you not get an appt or 6 mthly review, no one replies to answerphone messages or answers the phone.
Sorry can you tell I'm peed off.
I feel like I'm letting dd down, heavens knows even damaging her!

hi piffle, its very confusing,. cant wait til lthese assessments are over, at least then i may have more of an idea of what we are dealing with. dyspraxia was mentioned yesterday when i said about dd2 low muscle tone and clumsiness, coupled with pre-schools idea of autism.

at least we are getting there slowly.
