Great news about DLA Wet.

Moose hope Ds is OK. Well done to DS1 for his end of term achievements.

Glad hope the party goes well. Sorry you are no further forward with schools.

Lollipop good that you can keep your hand in. Also really liked your movie making idea on your other thread.

Term finished today. DS has been introduced to a new computer game by a friend at school and is now playing it with this friend on Skype. I am quite glad that he is developing this friendship though it is difficult to meet up as friend lives miles away and has mobility difficulties.
Discovered this week that both DCs need glasses for distance vision. It is the first time I have managed to get DS to an optician since he was 7. (He's 15). First I heard that he was having any problems was when he told the optician. And here's me thinking it was just routine.
Ds's keyworker was supposed to come today to discuss urgent support for him and me. She was off sick and cancelled at the last minute. It has already been nearly 3 weeks since the meeting when I was promised it would be dealt with urgently.
And Oh Virgin are County Council's preferred provider to take over integrated children's services!

Hope ds2 is okay Moose!

Not going anywhere near Wales I don't think. Perhaps Gower at very end of hols but not sure. Perhaps next year we'll head that was but this we're doing south and East I think. Not that anything is booked.

moosemama · 20/07/2012 21:50

Thanks for all the well wishes. We're back - they booked him as an emergency, so went straight in. (Did my reverse psychology thing of packing an overnight bag, as whenever I do that they don't keep him in, whereas if I don't take one they are pretty much guaranteed to admit him.)

He has a double chest infection, but they think we've caught it in time. Got a bag full of bottles of antibiotics and various other drugs and have to go back if either his temp doesn't come under control overnight OR he is no improving within the next 48 hours. Doc was lovely and said we did exactly the right thing getting him seen as a priority.

creatovator · 20/07/2012 22:41

Moose Sorry he's so poorly, but glad you've got him back home.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 20/07/2012 23:23

Forgot it was Friday! Blooming school holidays confusing me.

Moose, glad DS2 is home, hope he's better soon.

Have a good weekend everyone else! Off to bed now.

BeeMom · 21/07/2012 02:22

I am sure you have all found your pillows by now, I am 5 hours behind you, but thought I would pitch in.

Moose Hoping DS is right as rain in no time - those temps over 40 always make me quiver.

Wet great news on the indefinite (well, indefinite until some bureaucrat goes and messes it up, at least)

everyone else Here's hoping the hols treat you well, whatever you are doing.

As for me, my summer plans got roundly shot down on Tuesday when a tree trunk my DH and I were taking down took an errant bounce and landed on my foot. I am laid up pretty soundly now, with 3 broken bones, so the trips and long walks might have to be postponed.

Happy Friday Smile

WetAugust · 21/07/2012 02:28

At last!!!! I've got someone to carry on talking to when the rest of you have sloped off to be at 9pm.

Sounds like a horrible accident Bee - It must have hurt like hell!

What a ghastly way to start the summer holidays.

Hope you're mobile again quickly.

I suppose I'd better join the rest of them and slope of to bed.

Night night.

Oo Bee - ouch!

You poor thing. I sympathise. I broke my ankle just before the summer holidays the year before last. Ended up on the beach with my leg in a cast, as it was either that or spend the whole holiday on my own in the holiday house. Fortunately, as I had an air cast I was able to remove it every day and pour out the mountain of sand I'd collected. Grin

Hope you can find some alternative ways to keep the family entertained over the holidays.

This morning finds me wholeheartedly unimpressed at waking up with dd and ds's raging cold. First day of sunshine in weeks and I am stuck inside with two poorly dcs. Ds1 is teaching himself html on dh's laptop though, so at least one of them is occupied. Ds2 and dd are curled up in the boys' room watching Wall-E.

Had both boys in floods of tears this morning as we had to cancel them going to a birthday party at Lazer Quest. They were both really looking forward to it, but essentially it was ds2 who was invited and we had asked if ds1 could go along for the ride because he's been desperate to go there for ages. Poor ds2, bless him, thought that if he stayed in bed until half an hour before the party and then had some antibiotics, he'd be well enough to go. He was heartbroken when I explained. Sad

NoHaudinMaWheest · 21/07/2012 12:05

Oh poor DS2 Moose. But he must be feeling a bit better if he is even thinking of going. Hope he continues to improve. Sorry for you stuck indoors too. DD and I are off to a craft fair now. If DS has got to a point in his rituals where I can leave him that is.

moosemama · 21/07/2012 12:58

Thanks NoHaudin.

Daft thing is he's nowhere near well enough and obviously not feeling any better. He was just convinced he could make himself better by staying in bed and taking his antibiotics. Sad

Hope you manage to get to the craft fair and have a nice afternoon. Smile

alison222 · 21/07/2012 13:07

moose Glad that your Ds was let home and hoping that the antibiotics start to have an effect quickly.

Hope everyone else is able to enjoy then sun - even if it is in the garden rather than taking long walks to those who are feeling ill.

signandsmile · 22/07/2012 20:16

Hi everyone, moose hope Ds is improving...

we have been away for a weekend, me and ds and my mate and her ds and dd (her ds is friends with mine thru school.) Pontins at Brean Sands, ds was really good Grin bless him, and my friend was lovely and didn't mind us staying back at chalet, for 'down time' when it got too much...

had to come back a day early as dh was quite unwell and needed me... Sad but ds didn't mind, so that was ok. and weather was utterly brill... Grin.

ds's lovely lovely TA actually shed a tear when she said goodbye to him and thank you for his pressie to her, (we will all miss her Sad Hmm)
