dd2 forms for CDC were filled i nages ago, (by a student HV), i wasnt in when she came round for me to sign them, so i said i'd be in on the friday and she saiud fine, she'd bring them round them. she never showed up. what with everything else happening ihavent had time to chase up. but i am going to have to as otherwise these forms wont get signed and they will disappear i know it. i am feeling increasingly let down by the system. am on waiting list for OT, gotta phone on monday for SALT, dd2 already been discharged by physio. i have met the SN health visitor, by that was only because iwent to a local SN groups off my owen back last month. she has got us onto SALT list, i just have to call. Why dont people tell you where you should be accessing support from?

dd2 has been havign a very screechy evening. its been driving me mad. i inadvertadly gave the kids cheap orange squash full of food colours at a party earlier, mieows dd2 came out in hives, my dd2 just goes off the scale behaviour wise.

Poor you Misdee, sounds like you're having a shite evening!

Mums with children needing to access lots of services need keyworkers to act on their behalf.....but, of course, that would cost the government, so bugger all chance!

Poor a BIG drink love!

its just the thought of the phone calls ihave to make on monday.

i am fortunate i have managed to cross one off for my dd3. she had a special eye check with new camera testing equipment in jan, and she needs glasses. have been waiting for an appointment. i had added to my list of things to do, but my GP called last night about a letter i needed signing and said hewould chase up the eye clinic referral for me. why cant mroe docs be like that?

dd2 was referred back to paed in dec, not even had a sniff of an appointment yet. we are left to struggle. pre-school are sh*te, they make the suggestion that dd2 has these differculties but arent forth coming in helping. refused to sign DLA forms, even tho they are the main group of professionals to have contact with her.
some days i convince my self she is ok, then i find her rubbing her face on the hallway floor or spinning in her bedroom.

Sorry to hear you're having a bad evening. Hope by now things have settled down and trust you've poured youself a generous glass of something.

I know exactly what you mean about having to chase up everything but sadly it seems to be the only way. It was our HV who was most helpful at first but then she moved to a new job and I find the rest of the staff change regularly too. You may find that the local SN group/support group is your best source of advice as they'll know exactly who you should speak to in your area to access the support you need.
Think you'll need to chase the student HV though. Good luck!

I bet you can't relax all weekend thinking about everything you have to do on monday? It must be so hard.

When I'm prime minister, you'll get that key worker, as well as free pedicures and a bar of dairy milk through your letter box every day Grin

misdee · 04/03/2006 21:56

pedicures through the letter box? do i have to stick my toes through?

now i know why people hate mondays. Sad

yeah misdee, but you have to wear flip-flops, otherwise the postman will take it as a come-on Grin

God they've been blabbing on about keyworkers here for years- yet to find the money to employ them! Every review they decide they would make life much easier. Never ever gets funded. My direct payments support worker is great though.

misdee · 04/03/2006 22:37

what the heck is a keyworker?

Im a bit suprised at dd2s preschool. They're fab with ds. Hes had a visit from the EP and his statement is well under way.
They signed ds' DLA form for his renewel and even offered to help fill it in with their observations.
I will have a chat with ds' ASD home tutor today about getting help in place without a dx. See what she says.

misdee · 06/03/2006 10:36

dd2 isnt at the same nursery as your ds yet. she'll join him in sept hopefully.

i really know how u feel, my hospital does not communicate with anyone, so its left up to me to ring SALT (who we r still waitimg to hear from), i have to ring GOSH, dietican, communit nurse, hv coz no one talks

last week i must of madeover 50 calls to try and get things sorted for my son, and the attitude i get from some of them, like im only ringing to annoy them grr they do my head in

hope u get somewhere it is very frustating

spursmum · 06/03/2006 11:23
