Dd3 has come home from school today with a pack about holiday clubs in our area.

On the first page it says we need to be getting DLA at middle or higher rate or mobility.

Is this right? Can they exclude children with a DX just because I havent applied for these benefits?

I will be gutted if she isnt even considered for a placeSad

Although it is very late to be sending this home isnt it, I bet the places are all gone anywaySad

Just give them a ring and explain your situation. Unlikely to turn away a child with special needs if they have a spare place. I was told my daughter could only access certain schemes if she had had a CAF which she hadn't. I found complaining worked a treat. Grin

Give them a ring as sometimes all the places aren't filled. Ds is 5 so is going to an older age range holiday club this year. One of the women from our children's centre stopped me the other day & asked if he wanted to go on the younger aged one too. Turns out its the week we're away, but it shows that there's ways round the rules Wink.

Best of luck!

Thanks Babe, It isn't really surprising that all the places dont get filled if they don't send the packs out until 2 days before they break up is itConfused
