i just lost dd2 and she hardly seemed bothered.

she walked out of a shop whilst my back was turned. me oanicing and yelling her name, checking the shop. someone else told me they'd seen her walk out of the shop. why didnt they stop her? she is 3yrs old! someone else watvhed the other 2 whilst i went to find her. another lady was bringing her back. she was found down the other end of the parade.

was so scared. must get reins.

god that must have been terrifying, glad you found her quickly, i intend to have dd on reins as soon as shes walking in the street, they are just too fast to run away, hope you are over your shock

agree about the reins, i laughed recently when i read they were 'barbaric' and infringed on kids' personal space. what a load of tripe!
rather infringe on their personal space than them get lost, knocked down or worse.

cant believe people watched her leave the shop, i know these days you have to be v careful with other peoples kids, but they could have at least followed her to make sure she came to no harm, id have followed her and tried to get her to walk back into the shop or something.

am calmer now. i was in tears. dd2 doesnt have a sense of danger and will just wander off. usually i have one eye on her, but i turned my back for a second. she is too big for standard toddler reins and can escape from wrist straps.

Just shows it can happen in a split second, thank god for the woman who brought her back. Every mothers nightmare.

are there no bigger versions to reins, i remember seeing a cloth harness somewhere that is exactly the same as reins, but may be better for a bigger child?

there are crulling reins, i need to ask baka for the website again.
