Ear defenders- why not the cheap ones

Whilst researching ear defenders for my little ones (to come to loud music performances with me!), I've noticed that they can be purchased for under 3quid. Or you go for the Peltor bespoke kiddies ones at 13quid. Now I'd like to save the money but still know that the protection is adequate. Can anyone tell me more?

The cheaper ones may be a far eastern product that doesn't comply with EU regulations so could you be certain they are not just keeping your little ones ears warm. You do get what you pay for in this world. My children both wear Peltor kids as they are a reputable brand that produce and are known for good quality hearing protection in the industry.

I got mine from www.peltorkids.co.uk and the service was great and my kids love them. :)

I bought ds some from the local DIY shop, £5 can't tell any difference tbh.
