lol, bear with me my heads spinning..............it won't sound much to those who don't know me but those who do, would love opinions Wink

The psychiatrist who discharged my son has now asked the psychologist to start the ball rolling for diagnosis..........not just the ASD, but the PDA and ADHD !!!!!

He also wants a meeting set up to make amends.

After all these years of fighting!!!

Desperatelywantingadvice · 20/06/2012 21:42

That's good news Grin. I have had years waiting for a dx and see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel too. Hope you get it sorted quickly now.

starfish71 · 20/06/2012 21:50

That is good news! Hope you now can get the right support for your lovely DS and you x it is a good start.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 20/06/2012 21:55

fab news at last dev! Smile

coff33pot · 20/06/2012 22:00

Oh Dev that is fantastic!

At last there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

If only they listened to you. But then we do a lot of "if onlys" where proffs are concerned.

I am pleased to read this :)

moosemama · 20/06/2012 22:15

Great to hear some positive news for you Dev. I'm really pleased you finally have a glimmer of hope.

insanityscratching · 20/06/2012 22:23

Really glad you are making progress at last x

Are they going to refer him to the Elizabeth Newson Centre/Sutherland House?

My ds goes to the school and they really are the best, listen to parents and consider their knowledge and experience invaluable.

devientenigma · 20/06/2012 23:09

thanks everyone

Insanity there is so much conflict around my DS, the GP has started the ball rolling for the funding for the ENC so we are awaiting that. However it's another bunch who has decided to go dx route.

That sounds great about ENC, do you know much about their assessment route?

OP posts:
insanityscratching · 21/06/2012 06:45

No not really just know that when the the psychologist OT and SALT go into school they really know their stuff and their reports for AR are brilliant.
As part of the assessment I'm pretty sure the children go into school at times and the school staff are all lovely and seem to perform minor miracles with ds everyday.
In November he couldn't speak, by February he was speaking freely, he'd refused to go in a shop for about ten years and now he goes and buys his stuff independently.
If you have any say do push for ENC they will miss nothing and will advise you in the provision ds needs.
