aarggghhhhhhhhhh dd1's carer has just cancelled again.....

dd1 is supposed to have 24 hours a month shared care. Since october we have lost about 90 hours. She has just phoned and cancelled again

why this timne?

she is ill, far enough, can't help that, but we should still get those hours, but she doesn't make them up

time to ring SS again i think.

Just tried to phone them, they have all gone home. Have to phone at 10am on monday.

god I do feel for you. I get so annoyed if ANYTHING upsets dd's respite. I can so understand you bing upset you need a break. Speak to ss and let them know how you feel.

I suppose the carer can't help being ill but to lose 90 or so hours since October is outrageous IMHO. I'd be too.

how can you get carers hours and respite as would like to know
our ss offer sweet fa except a club for 2hrs after school

we lost 3 weekends in october as she was on holiday and then ill on the first sat back (24 hours) then she has been ill 3 times (24 hours) her son has been ill (8 hours) she had to go to a shared carer thing with social services (8 hours) one (8 hour day) in december because of xmas last week it was the anniversary of a family member's death so lost another 8 hours, so possibly not quite 90 hours, but still a lot of hours.
