Following my last meeting with the LA roughly 2 weeks ago, I asked to be part of the process that advertises and chooses the new keyworker for DS at home. The LA said they would look into this and I told them it wasn't an unreasonable request, however a male has now been successfully chosen by them.

Told second hand via the social worker, discussion around this also revealed hurrying DS back into school within weeks.

I feel this again is all there control, they are still not taking DSs needs on board and although i'm quite relieved they have someone, not happy to have not been part of the process and what follows also makes me on edge.

Not surprised you're not happy about this as they have basically ignored your request and not even had the manners to tell you in advance that they would not agree with your suggestion. I hope the new keyworker will be good for ds but it is pathetic that they are not involving you in deciding how to best meet ds' needs.

Really not good that they ignored your request and then to hear it second hand is awful.

Hope the key worker turns out to be good but they can't expect to rush your DS back to school.

Hope it all works out and that he manages to tolerate school. You need that time to yourself. It's no wonder you are all with all of the strain.

Its no wonder with all the stress. Trouble is its not DS is it its the busybodies that seem to think that they just make a plan behind your back and presume its perfect and its all going to be rosey!

Do they really know anything about your child and that he is going to need more support than that owing to his needs and just how difficult schooling has been for him?
