to put their bag in a safe place?

I know that sounds silly, but my Sister called the other day and left her bag on the floor. I knew she would have a lighter in it. I asked her (didn't mind as it was my Sister)

She didnt have a lighter and pills also and moved it out of place straight away.

why I asked is because Ellie tends to go through peoples bags

Obviously I stop her and tell her off but sometimes she may have gone into the hall and I don't see her do it.

My Mum leaves her bag on the floor and I know she has medication in it.

I don't mind telling Family but would you tell other people who came to the house who you are not as close to?

Bit of a daft question I suppose

annie - my dd1 is fascinated with handbags - usually after the phone or wallets ( taught her well ) I usually just take it and let them know I am putting up somewhere safe.

Like jj - I too have had to move things ( in other people's houses) just put things up and say I am putting it up so it will be safe. Also saves me being on tenterhooks the whole visit watching for either dd to go to something they shouldn't.

Sounds very sensible to me. Wouldn't have a problem with you asking at all. I've moved stuff in other people's houses before now (think only people I know well....) and just said 'do you mind if I put this up here where ds can't get at it'. No-one's ever objected (and ds is NT so I have much less reason than you, IYKWIM).

I take regular medicine that is dangerous to small children (or anyone who doesn't need it) and am so paranoic I keep it on a shelf that is so high I have to stand on the bed to get it! When I'm staying over somewhere else I always try to find somewhere equally hard to reach... would never knowingly leave it in my bag on the floor.

of course I would- or just take it off them and put it somewhere safe out of the way. You could make a passing comment if you wanted to but tbh it wouldn't bother me if i was asked
