to make it safe?

I know you can get things to put over bath taps but this is really for the sink hot water tap?

Went upstairs earlier to find Ellie had the hot tap (it was boiling) on full blast

I have now turned the tap off so tightly the whole tap moved!!!

Just wondered if I could get anything for one tap?

Other than that I shall have to put a lock on the bathroom door, but that means taking Grace up to the toilet each time as she wouldn't be able to reach.

Which isn't a huge problem, but I don't want to have to go and open the door for her each time she wants the toliet

Great Little Trading Company used to do a thick padded cover that you could put onto the tap; not sure if they still do and can't access their site to look at the moment (it's www.gltc.co.uk).

Hi AnnieBear. Don't know about something for the tap but I do know you can get a special thermostatic valve fitted to your hot water tank (if you have one) that makes sure the hot water is never hot enough to scald a child. It's called a TMV2. you have to get a plumber to fit it though

googled and found a few things,

this

and this

hi
you can fit a thermostactic valve to the pipe going into a particular sink, if that is what you need. its regulation in care homes, most plumberss should do it.
means water from that tap will never scald but you can still have v. hot water where you need it in the house. hope helpful

We asked a plumber for a quote to fit a mixer tap on bath with thermostatic control, and it was >£100, which we decided was too much. he said he'd never done it, but could get the parts from his usual supplier. We just turned down the thermostat on the hot water cylinder. However, would think again if I were in your shoes.

Thanks

she did call me to say something about the tap

there was steam so I am just hoping she realised how hot it was and thats why she did't touch it.

I think I have done it that tight that I won't be able to turn it on

She managed to open the front door the other day Its amazing how many things there are daily that I wouldn't even think about with Grace
