And I'm quaking in my boots now! I was thinking it was going to be in the summer - well the consultant's secretary just rang and it's on the 2nd of March. EEEK!!
Dd is having a BAHA implant done. It's not a particularly big procedure but you know... it's just hard knowing I've got to hand her over and she won't understand anything about what's happening to her.
She's had lots of minor and some major surgery but that was all when she was little so the lack of awareness wasn't too much of an issue. Now I feel like I'll be betraying her majorly.
The whole procedure is also quite gory (they have to do a lot to the skin around the implant) and that just keeps whizzing round my head.
It's for the best - she will be able to hear so much better once it's all working - but I'm just so nervous now. My little poppet.

I do understand how you feel. A couple of years ago my ds nt had to have a big op on his ear. there was something growing in it. and they had to take his ear of and put it back on. as he was 10 it was really hard. he had loads of grommets done plus a couple of big ops(BALLS!!!) when he was very small. But I found that one the hardest.
I do hope all goes well.
