DS1 (7) has moderate receptive and expressive language delay just diagnosed in Nov 11. Has since been attending SALT privately, as will have to wait until Sept for public sessions (Ireland)!
Had educational psychologist review last week and she felt no other issues were apparent TG but she feels another SALT would have fought harder for DS to get resource hours at school. He got 71 in expressive , but if his score had been 70 he would have been automatically entitled to resource !
He gets on really well with present SALT and work seems appropriate to his needs. She is very young! Just wondering should I seek second opinion? Would someone with more experience know what to do to improve his chance of getting resource hours/
I know there is a higher assessment that can be done but my SALT reckons The educational board would question why it was done!!! All confused!! Would love to get him extra help at school, just not sure how to go about it!

Have asked to meet with teacher to discuss it, applications went in in March for nxt Sept resource hours so might have missed boat for nxt year!!!! Feel very annoyed and confused!!
All opinions appreciated:)
