What happens now? Pead met us for first time and gave diagnosis then and there which was a bit of a surprise as expecting lots of tests appts before dx. She said it was between aspergers and HFA, but that because of his speech delay HFA, with above average intelligence.

Feel :( and awful for not seeking help sooner as read that under 5 is most important time for intensive help. He is almost 4 1/2.

These posts to make sense and I know I should be accepting his dx as in all honesty I love him so much, quirks and all. I over think things and so damned scared of making a mistake for my dc. Also because he is the same ds2 I feel guilty as I am looking at him trying to see what is HFA and what isn't and I know I shouldn't and it's just him, HFA and all and it doesn't matter. Today we went to beach and he needed huggles so much, 2 armed ones of course. Also needed to be in soft warm clothes which ended as towels and my hooded top. He tried to open car door as we were drinking, thankfully I have child locks on. The airplanes in the garden scared him again so the neighbours kids went home while ds chose a movie. He's snuggled up asleep in bed laying in my arms as I type. I love him so much and feel so protective of him, and I always have and knew and know deep down he's a sensitive soul who needs love and security above all else.
