Nothing major, but we walked to school!!!!!!!!

I am normally rushing from one school to another doing a 50 minute round trip, so I have to go in the car.

But Ellie has started her mainsream session with Grace on a wednesday so we braved it and walked

Put reigns on Ellie till we were over the main road, then we go through a Leisure centres grounds and then a long path. You should have sene Ellies face when she realised she could run off!!!

Was a bit stressful, I had 2 lunch boxes, 2 bags and for some of the way 2 hands to hold!

But it was lovely to have done it for the first time

Just a little thing, but HUGE to me!!!

But it's the little things that make the big things easier to cope with.
A little thing like my ds getting his PECS book himself and asking for a drink(with vocalising!!) without me having to prompt him.
HOORAH for you!!

anniebear thats lovely news

Good for you Annie, it'll get easier with practice (hopefully!). What can you do with all those bags and stuff though? Shopping trolley? Or little rucksacks they wear themselves? Its easy to avoid these challenges (and believe me I have many times!) but its often good to try them out and surprise yourself.

Thanks

I was going to take Ellies SN buggy in case she didn't walk all the way, then I could have put the bags in when she walked. But I was in a conquering mood!!! Daft eh?!! Could have gone so horribly wrong, but felt like giving it a go and it felt good"

After about 10 minuets it was safe for them to run off which they enjoyed!!!

I put the lunch boxes in a carrier bag and managed to squash Graces school bag in also!!

Then just had Ellies Dora bag!!

so pleased for you

anniebear · 15/02/2006 18:10

she also had a great day at mainstream

one of the other girls said "I love you Ellie"!!!

Mind you, the same girl came to me last week and moaned that one of the boys wouldn't let her 'have a go' of Ellie. Made me realise she is just a novelty, play with a ball, skipping rope or an Ellie!!!!!

She said goodbye to her LSA and said "I love you Alison" which was nice for her and me!!!
