Hi there, my son has recently been diagnosed as being autistic and I'm trying to find a fabulous classical homeopath in England who has plenty of experience with treating autism and we also need a decent nutritional therapist. We live in Nottinghamshire but are prepared to travel . The paediatrician has asked for a urine sample to be done but only seems to be interested in organic acids and amino acids, anyone out there with any hindsight experience as to what else they should be testing for?? I thought maybe this dimorphine that I've been reading about and of course mercury levels. Any help or advice would be wonderful right now as this has been a month of " too much information" feeling a bit swamped by it all really. Jay has never been vaccinated and has always had a 90% organic diet, but am trying to cut out gluten and casein at the moment, fine at home but a nightmare at preschool when they get out the squidgy white bread at snack time, waffling now, so hard to know what to say, thank you for reading this xxxxxxxx

Hi Josie. I have a son 3 diagnosed ASD as well. After spending huge amounts on a doctor who really didnt help much, we find Jean Muscroft who is FABBBUUUULOOUUUS. Her website is
www.autism-aspergers.co.uk/

She is very thorough and has a child on the spectrum herself. She follows Dr McCandless of "Children with Starving Brains". I cant say enough about her. She has helped us immeasurably in just a few short weeks.

Anyway, if you contact her via above website she will email you back and ask you for a full profile and will get all the tests you need done via an English lab. She is located in Cheshire. No need to see her personally, its all done via telephone and email. I have never met her but am very very pleased with her.

Hope that helps.

We found nutrilink to be helpful- Michael Ash the founder knows his stuff. He takes things slowly and tests in order - so you don't waste your money (still pricey though I have to say).

Homeopath wise I saw a regular one I got on with!

Thank you both so much for your messages, really helpful, just found another very useful website and wanted to share it with you ; www.dietaryneedsdirect.co.uk really really informative, has a special autism section which was the first I saw to actually say that casein is in human milk, couldn't believe it, it hadn't entered my head, so last night was the last time, and it was literally like watching someone go through drug withdrawl, scary!! all this time I thought I was doing the right thing, take a look anyway, love Josie xxx
ps I found a homeopath who has loads of experience treating autism and also worked in a centre for autism, fingers crossed
