Carry on from another thread I started where a lovely lady suggested I start this thread as there are others who have dd with AS, to cut a long story short I went to parents evening for dd and there are concerns RE dd struggling with everything reading, writing, maths, also socially, dd is also very clumsy, does not give eye contact at all & does not seem to be able to take information in at all. Please could you tell me about your AS dd and the signs that you found with first diagnosis also would love to hear about what happens from here & the road ahead.

Am feeling very lost right now and my lack of knowledge is not helping, we have a meeting with the teacher & senco next week & the GP whatt will all this entail? Sorry for all the questions and thank you for reading

Hi and welcome to the SN board, firstly dont apologise for asking questions. That is what we all do on here.

We support each other by answering questiojs if we can or often just saying , yes my Dd orDs does that.

There are loads of knowledgable people around at various times of the week.

My Dd3 has a dx of ASD she is 9 and was dxed in september last year. She stuggles socially, with changes in routine, she has poor eye contact and a very black and white view of the world.

She is also my lovely little girl who is clever, funny and very loving.

I hope your meetings go ok Smile.

Have you looked at the National Austistic Society website? There is a lot of information on there. They also have a helpline. I haven't used it, but it is there if you need it.
