Our 8 yr old is profoundly autistic. He's in a very good LEA autistic day school but they say (and we agree) that he's too severe for them. He?s been accepted by a fantastic residential school but our LEA won't fund and are trying to put him into a totally inappropriate SLD day school. We?ve got a pile of evidence from a range of professionals saying he needs residential provision but the LEA just ignore.

We now know were going to have to go to tribunal to get him there so wonder if anyone can offer advice on good solicitors in the East Surrey/West Kent area (or in London if need).

Hi, I have a 19 year old who is autistic and a younger child who is 14 with ADD and NVLD. My younger child is in a specialist school and some of the parents have engaged the services of a female lawyer, whose name escapes me as we haven't used her personally. She has a very good success rate. Am happy to find out details and pass on through private messaging. I think she covers London as well as some of the more rural counties surrounding. Let me know if you wish to pursue.

I used Levenes (Chris Barnett) when taking Surrey LA to tribunal for an independent SN school for my autistic dd.

he was brilliant (but pricey, alas), and really knew his stuff.

Judith Lancet of John Ford Solicitors, based in North London.

Very good, i would never have got my Ds into AS independent school without her. We didn't go to tribunal in the end. She has been tribunal and won for another boy in our school.

Also won a case not very long ago against my LEA in the High Court.

I have a five year old child with Special needs and recently he has been sent to Lebanon with his father by the courts to a german school there however since his father has moved him to Dubai to a school without Special needs. He is obviously struggling and I cannot help him from here, what do I do? Is there a good Special needs solicitor that could help me.

Would also recommend Chris Barnett ( SEN solicitor ) at Levenes, North London.
He got our LA to settle before tribunal.
