and it has made me Smile

She was pottering around in the kitchen, I heard some clanking and banging.

She has now nonchalantly announced she is going to see Granny, with a rucksack full. She has also cleared the google history.

I suspect this may involve cake for tomorrow Grin

Not massive but she often doesn't think about presents for other people unless prompted.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 17/03/2012 12:33

Hee hee. I gave my DS1 some money yesterday and an instruction to go to the shop and have a look at the 'stationery items' and maybe the confectionary. It's my first mothers' day as a single mum and they would never have thought of it on their own. So I'm practising a Shock face. Grin (Don't care so long as I get chocolate!)

creatovator · 17/03/2012 12:50

Hope it's nice chocolate Ellen.

I've been telling my DH and DCs for weeks when Mother's Day is, and can usually depend on the schools to do something. DD brought a card from school which she couldn't wait to give me and so I got it yesterday Grin and she bought another one. However DS has a male teacher this year, so nothing happening there Sad.

My Mum and I had an early day out last week at an exhibition we like, and I treated her to coffee and lunch. She then phoned yesterday knowing that DH wouldn't plan anything, and invited us to her house for lunch. Yeah for my Mum Grin.

creatovator · 17/03/2012 12:52

Lady hope you enjoy the cake loads.. it's so nice that she's thinking of you.

coff33pot · 17/03/2012 13:12

awww thats lovely!:) Happy munching tomorrow!

I got a picture he did at school in a frame of me with "my mum is special because............." as the main title and underneath at the bottom he scribbled "I like her" LOL made me grin at the plain thinking :)

Chundle · 17/03/2012 17:08

Well I had to hint heavily to dh that in the back of dd2s Charlie and Lola magazine there was a make your own mothers day card!!!! The page has now gone so either dd2 has eaten it or dh has taken the hint!! Dd1 despite her manic behaviour has remembered and stashed away a card she did at school - she now has to remember where she hid it!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 18/03/2012 11:09

Lady, did you get your cake?

I was 'surprised' this morning with a card and a Lindt gold bunny. It actually wasn't what I was expecting, I thought maybe a box of Roses or something, so they did actually manage to surprise me! Smile Shhh, I don't think they realise it's an Easter thing and I'm not telling.

I am waiting with anticipation.......... Grin

LadyFingers · 18/03/2012 17:54

The cake is fabulous.

it's a bit flat and it would never win any masterchef prizes BUT I think it is beautiful. Bright pink icing with 'Happy mum's Day' on it. And she did it herself. and it tastes perfect. Grin
