Would really appreciate any recommendations etc. This is a new and all-of-a-sudden thing for us and I'm flailing a bit.

So... will a diagnosis help you get proper support?

cuddlymanatee · 15/03/2012 21:05

yes.

How so? Why private?

we are moving in 4 months and the school can't get us to an ep before 6/7 months. Any assessment through the LEA is inherantly suspect as our LEA is very down on additional needs. The country we are moving to will recognise a diagnosis through a UK EP so why not get the most in-depth one we can.

In the meantime the UK school will offer structured support with a diagnosis.

We called SOS:SEN for a list of private Ed Psychs in our area - they were very helpful.

The good oness usually have very long waiting lists. We waited 6 months for our private EP (in London)

Okay - can but try. WetAugust would you mind telling me who your EP was?
