Panel sat on Monday and I have been on pins since then, spent most of last night and today mentally preparing, and researching on line ready to appeal!

Know it is only the very first step but am so relieved that I don't have to battle just to get the assessment done.

Got appt with CAMHS tomorrow with DS so at least I can tell them what is happening. DS hasn't attended school since Christmas. Am so hoping this will help get what DS needs. (am unsure exactly what that is at moment, apart from much more support, understanding teachers, smaller school..)

Just wanted to share as I don't post much but am always grateful for replies and advice when I do. You lot inspire me to keep going!

Hello starfish, am happy for you. Having been through tribunal (successfully), I am now gearing up to apply for an assessment for ds, it is nerveracking, even though I have been through it before.

Hope you get the result you want Smile

Great news!

I totally get the relief at not having to battle for at least one stage in the process. (We got the agreement to assess at the beginning of January and are in the middle of SA at the moment.)

Lots of people have made jokes about my, er ... rather comprehensive application - but I just tell them to blame the folks in my excellent SN support group. Wink Grin

Well done, Starfish. Good luck with the assessment.

Congratulations! I hope it continues to go well for you.

We put in our application two days ago so I've got at least 2 weeks to wait until I hear. I too have already been looking into the appeal process - it doesn't hurt to be prepared!

Thanks! Am going to have a glass or two of Wine tonight to celebrate.

Had an interesting appt at CAMHS today with DS, will post about that later, once I have a glass in hand! Ups and downs as usual!
