dd2 is waiting to see the sn denist. I get a call today from the receptionist saying they have a cancelation appointment for 3 hours time and would i like it. I explained she was at school all day and all these things need planning.
She got very snotty with me and told me I would be waiting till April and would i consider it Hmm

heh.

we were referred to the sn dentist as dd2 had substantial decay and needed treatment urgently. they said there was a 4 mo waitlist to be seen (not treated, just assessed). we were moving o'seas at the 6mo point. i called and asked if we could possibly be seen before we left the country as otherwise my child who needed treatment could be waiting in pain for up to a year as we would have to go back to the bottom of the waitlist in the new area.

our appointment eventually came through for 4 days after we were due to leave the country, despite me putting it in writing when we were leaving and requesting we be seen before.

then i had two further letters complaining that i had missed the appointment.

i have to say i might have been tempted to take the 3 hour appointment Grin Grin

They look at what needs doing and write a treatment plan. First time DS went he also saw the masks they use for sedation and they just tried to make it as comfortable for him as possible. Ours was very impressive. They took their time with him, just letting him accept as much as he could (look in mouth, gentle exploration etc) and he built up to the fillings over a couple of appointments. Second course of treatment he knew what to expect. There was still an assessment appointment, and he had the fillings at the next appointment.

ours was fab, first visit was crawling around on the floor with ds, (while he opened and shut her cupboards) calling out to her assistant when she saw a tooth, Grin Grin
