Anyone know current waiting times for DLA renewals?

dd's award runs out end of March and we submitted the forms on 18th Jan. They've just sent us the letter saying the forms have been received and to ring if we don't hear after 8 weeks. I'm really hoping not to wait the full 8 weeks as it brings us right up to the end of March and we also have to sort out the new mobility car which we can't do until we know DLA results. Someone I know has been doing the usual scaremongering saying someone she knows waited 16 weeks etc etc. Anyone recently submitted a renewal? Ours has gone to the Bristol office if that makes any difference. thanks Smile

thanks davidsotherhalf - I can't believe you waited that long Shock. I'm worrying because if we don't get the renewal back by the end of march, what happens to the motability car? I think I'll phone them today and see if they will tell me what the waiting time is like at the moment.

My DS's last claim was due to run out 31st Dec, due to my address being maliciously claimed I didn't get the renewal forms they had sent out to me. However I got them in maybe sometime around the 10th (guessing), and when I called about a different issue on the 20th (checking my address had been corrected and new security measures had been put on my file) they also told me the decision on the renewal (care rate was same, and they had awarded LRM which he was too young for last time I'd claimed).

I was VERY relieved as my (adult) BIL had been kept waiting 20 WEEKS, had to appeal, etc. He did get his awarded in the end and backdated, rightly so.

It made me very worried though that I would be waiting months for ds's too and I really thought I'd be up shit creek - we live off his DLA.

Maybe the children's departments are running quicker than the adults?

I had my award letter today. It was almost two weeks after I received the letter confirming they were dealing with my claim.
