For a change!!!!

Today i received a phonecall from DS Consultant Psychologist at the Hospital.

This morning she had a meeting with the nasty Psychiatrist from CAMHS and the Manager of the CAMHS dept.

Mr Nasty has been taken off DS assessment procedure and the top specialist will see him next Weds-the ASD specialist that is.

He will be seen again after next week to tell us the results of what she thinks and then DS Consultant Psychologist will take Ds back on and continue to work with him and us and help with his anxiety etc........

YEEEE HAAAAAA

Finally we seem to be getting somewhere, and she has written a letter to the EWO lady confirming everything that we say about DS is correct.

Feel really relieved now...Ds at last will be seen by someone who knows what they are doing.

Aw thanks guys for the good wishes although i have to add that DS consultant emailed me this late this afternoon to say that she contacted DS school SENCO (who is also his form teacher) and they are STILL saying they have no concerns, so i told her about his IEP and the referral they have made to the additional needs service which they happened to forget to mention to her and she wants copies which i have and which i will be providing her with before DS assessment next week.

Great news jenk that you're finally getting somewhere.

though that you had to fight the school as well to get heard. Lets hope you're nearing the end of your long battle.

Got a letter this morning from DS Consultant Psych.

She had cc,d us in on a letter to the EWO worker.

She spelled it out in no uncertain terms that DS DOES suffer from extreme anxiety, that he has for a few months and that its going to take time to get him reintigrated into school and we as parents are fully commited to doing the best for our DS and we DO want him to be in school but that we cant bear to see him so distressed as he is, she said DS is going to receive ongoing treatement for his anxiety/obsessional behaviours and that she hopes this letter is sufficient. ..Shes a nice lady
