Morning Mums

Had been feeling bright and optimistic have been working hard on DD's diet she has started a new school things were on the up.

Have just left DD off to school all the way there she sang Jingle Bells on repeat when we got there I lined her up with the other P1s and the difference between my DD and them was so so obvious Sad
They were chatting and being friendly and talking in context my DD was just talking gibberish and holding her hand up to their faces and saying let me talk.
She appears so immature compared to them and they were looking so puzzled and confused by her behaviour.
Have a meeting with the teacher today she is lovely and so helpful but have just landed with a bump again this morning. Her behaviour is not like this at home she converses so well with adults Confused

Sorry just feeling a bit down today.

HCJ

(((((HCJ))))))

You write she has started a new school; what has happened previously?.

Has she received a diagnosis from a paediatrician?.

Is DD on anything like School Action Plus currently?.

Be polite but also assertive re her teacher; you are DDs best and only advocate here at the end of the day.

Have you actually thought about personally applying to the LEA asking for your DD to be statutorily assessed with a view to obtaining a Statement?. This may well be something you now need to give serious consideration to in order to get DDs needs at school fully met. Have a look at IPSEA's website www.ipsea.org.uk.

Thanks for replying Attila. DD does have a statement just had it finalised (after 4 months) she has full time classroom assistant hours but as we have started a new school they have now to start the recruitment process to find an appropriate one and this can take up to 6 weeks.
We removed her from her other school as we had lots of issues with the methods they were using they were disciplining DD for bad behaviour rather than accepting she had SEN. The teacher was clueless and had no authority over DD she would just send for the HT every day to discipline DD. The new school has a smaller class size DD was complaining about the noise so we thought this might help.
This is our last shot at mainstream we will know in a couple of months if this environment is suitable for DD. She has DX of ADHD and Dyspraxia we have been given medication but am trying the healthy eating supplement route first. Her behaviour has been very aggressive in school lots of frustration, refusal to do things and hitting out at teacher Sad
