So, its end of term and ds1 (8) is ill - as he usually is at the end of all the winter terms (he has mild asthma and has always had bad winters, but they are much better now than when he was little) He has been off since last thursday - He has a bad cough and cold and looks v pale BUT has no temp and is happily playing with ds2 (3) who has also come down with it. Tbh, I thought after the weekend he would be loads better, but he isnt.

(Pretty sure it is a virus and not a chest infection hence I havent taken him to GP)

In this LA the schools dont break up til thursday pm and I am seriously considering ringing the school and telling them he wont be back in this term.

AIBU?

Unilke lots of dc, he really isnt bothered about missing the xmas dinner and party and nativity.

Thoughts?

Well they dont really do a lot xmas dinner, class party, plays then wind down collecting school work up so if he isnt bothered or doesnt like the hussle and bustle of the last week keep him home. :)

Keep him off. Even the teachers are complaining about still being at school this late..... They're not going to be their best and neither are any of the kids.

And use the extra days to do a little bit more of all those things you mean to do with him........

(Re his asthma - is he breathing through his mouth or his nose?)

I'd say keep him off as well. If he's been ill with a virus, he'd just pass it around to all the other children just before Christmas anyway.

yes...I dont want him passing to all the other kids.

indigo He is breathing through his mouth atm as he is very bunged up. He has been very emotional today Hmm He watched the Bob the builder xmas special from a few years ago (yes, I am afraid cbeebies is parenting my kids atm!!) and he cried! Shock Was also upset when dh got cross with him so he is def not on top form Sad

Thanks for the views x
