I didnt realise I had an email late tonight. Supposed to be amended for me to view and comment (second amended)which I was supposed to get yesterday.

However they have emailed me a finalised statement with original on way in post.

After all the debating and battling I have read through the statement and I have to say everything is in order and requested amendments made. Salt is not in there yet which is understandable due to know report yet. But I do have their promise in email form saying they will amend this statement once this is in regardless of being finalised or not. They have phoned the school stating that there are further amendments regarding this report also.

It will also be reviewed again March/April time so that is only a few months away (due to getting things sorted for Juniors)

Now for the quantifying and specifying business. This is what the statement now shows in Part 3.

"DS will have a high level of targeted adult support for a minimum of 25 hours per week."

I am over the moon this is here baring in mind I had nothing showing to start with.

Would you accept this? Please say yes LOL

DS will have a high level of targeted TA support who has received adequate training in Special Needs/Autistic Spectrum Disorder, for a minimum of 25 hours per week on a 1 to 1 basis and occasional small group work"

I sent this request with explaination as to why I think so. So heres hoping. Failing this I can appeal as soon as I get the finalised statement in the post, which has been sent. And so the battle begins AGAIN

"a high level of targeted adult support"

Sounds good on the surface but I would like them to define both "high level" and "targeted adult support".

Also coff33pot, SALT will need to be in Part 2 as well as 3.

Their term high level I think comes from the fact that they keep repeating to me that "he is being given 25 hours which is a very high level of support" They are still thinking along this banding business which they say he is high.

I think they phrased it that way so that I succumb and treat it as top job stuff iyswim.

I dont dispute the woman is trying very hard to give me what I want. She has infact gone out of her way to hassle reports (which la didnt request) and hang on as long as possible for them. She has put in his speach and language in the sense that a full report is needed and a visit/assessment made to confirm in a way that this is going to be added so I cant fault her there and she did wait for the OT report and everything requested has been put in. The OT need to go back to train and give further sensory diet advice so she has also phrased this so that it is open to be added asap.

They amended OT in part 2 and 3 and so I think they will do the same for SALT when it comes.

Its this S & Q of hours overall there is the problem with and she is trying now to give me the HOURS shown but their reasoning from above her is that because all the reports are not in they cannot specify who is doing what on everything iyswim. They now (or have been told) to specify individually down the objectives so that it totals to the 25 hours and so without all the reports/info they cant do it this way.

Anyhow at least it is finalised with the total hours so no I need to insist on the rest.
