have you seen any good offers on laminators please? Pouches too

I haven't seen any myself but will need some more pouches soon. I shall take my place as lurker and await the wisdom of our esteemed Laminatrix leaders.

tesco extra have them on the website for 13 pounds [laminaors] not sure about cheap priced pouches anywhere, unless you try a office supplies shop, like staples, if they still exist

They're doing 50 pouches (varying sizes in the pack) for about £4.80 IIRC. Don't know if that's any good to you CT?

I am about to use my laminator to laminate photos I have mounted on card to do a weekly outline/diary for dd1 - 7 days split into am and pm - picture of her at swimming with her teacher for swimming, pic of her kindy, pic of her school etc. MOunt those photos on card with the activity name written underneath, laminate and attach velcro so I can stick it on her felt weekly outline.

can't help with bargains being the other side of the world....

I'll take a look at Lidl this week - thanks Mrs. F Lidl stuff generally good quality for the price so I'm prepared to chance it.

we are on summer holidays at the moment - am hoping to get pics I have taken of dd1 and write a little book - laminated pages contacted down the side - rather than bound..about her holidays to show her teacher so she has something to 'talk' about.

That's a really good idea Eidsvold .
We're planning to take lots of pics of family and household objects, so that we can start (hopefully!) getting dd to choose. It might have to be eye pointing at first, but she is starting to reach for things so I'm hoping that down the line PECS will work for her.

Thanks for this thread Chonky. We are about to purchase our first laminator too - and I have to say it is all a bit confusing (hot laminators, cold laminators...three bags full laminators !!!!)

If anyone is still looking for a cheap laminator Asda is selling some for £10. It only has a hot setting but then tbh that's the only setting I've ever used on mine anyway.

I always print photos to be laminated on ordinary printer paper. I find that photo paper is too thick and doesn't laminate well.
I have to say, I have been disappointed in the cheapo laminator I bought (Robert Dyas). It just isn't as good as my trust Rexel that got broken. It doesn't bond nearly as well, I put things through 2 or 3 times and its just about OK. It could just be that machine I suppose. DH discovered the other day that I had treated myself to a new A3 Rexel.....!!

Just to report back that the Tesco laminator is good - I've just christened mine (not as swanky as the Rexel one I used at work today though Davros). It's really addictive, dh will have to tie down anything that he doesn't want laminated.

Now, where did I put those pouches ?

wilkinsons have laminator pouches at the mo, I got 2 pks of 25 a4 pouches for a fiver today....

they were doing a3 size as well for 7.50 which seems a good price.
