...and so we had the tooth fairy discussion last night.

His GPs told him to put the tooth under his pillow and the TF would come and leave some money.

I asked if he was going to do that and after a pause he said;
ds1: "Mum, Zac says that thre is no TF and its just your mum and dad"
me: "Oh. What do you think ds1?"
Looks at me sternly
ds1: "I think he may have a point mum"

Grin

He is so funny!

He is 8.5 next month. He didnt lose any til he was past 7.

He got his teeth pretty late and really suffered with them too Sad didnt have any teeth til he was 13 months!

I have a theory that as he was late getting them he will be late losing them!

He has stopped calling me "mummy" ....now its "mum" !!

Sigh...he is growing up!

I think it could be something like that Becs.

DD had no teeth but had razor sharp gums till she was nearly two and she didnt start losing hers till she was 8. DS ....well he was born and his Gnashers started and he has been shedding the pearly whites since he was just turned 5. :)

Dd is 16 in feb and still has some baby teeth. She has lost a few this summer but they hung on even though her other teeth were coming through and in the end the dentist had to flip them out, they really didn't want to come out!
I think it must be a sign of strong teeth as she is embarrassingly bad at looking after her teeth (I have to nag constantly to clean them) yet has never had a filling or extraction.

DD also didn't get any teeth til she was 13m. She lost her first tooth on holiday aged 7y4m. But just like getting them in a funny order, they also came out in the wrong order too. She's 9y now and has lost about 8 teeth I think.

Oh god loose teeth are a real sore point in our house at the moment, DS seems to have had one loose tooth after another for nearly a year now! He won't wobble or wiggle them (which means they are in there wobbling about for ages), won't bite into anything with his front teeth anymore, and completely freaks out if wobbly tooth gets knocked and/or bleeds. Hmm

OP your conversation with your DS did make me chuckle Smile

Ds1's new teeth come up behind the baby teeth IYSWIM? So he looks like one of those sharks with hundreds of jagged teeth for a while - which he loves obv!!!

Dh had to have some of his baby teeth pulled out by the dentist too....hope ds1 doesnt have to...that would not be good Sad
