Happy thread- what's your favourite interaction with dc

think it's time for another happy thread!

What do you most love doing with your dc?

Mine is discovering a new game that he loves and makes him laugh uncontrollably! Especially when it's ridiculous and simple like making an unusual sound. Or when he suddenly takes an interest in something for the first time and he's really pleased with himself.

What's yours? Winter and darkness is on it's way, heart warming stories are required! ;)

Watching You've Been Framed at the moment - he had a whole roomful of adults laughing at his giggling on Saturday Grin

Similarly, I love it during Harry Hill, even though they have no idea what X Factor or Eastenders is, the whole lot of us stands up together and shouts, "Fight!"

Made DS laugh today by pretending to sneeze?... Its been a while since he laughed so much.... :-) he couldn't get enough of it, neither could dw if I am honest... :-)

My 4 years old dd made up this cute joke and she tells it at every occasion: When I give her a cup of milk she says: '' It juice, no it's water" and I have to say what is it, and she says:'' It's milk!" She is so proud of her joke :)

another sneezer here Smile.Guaranteed to get the best giggles from DS if i pretend ive got the sneezes, and without fail after everyone he says "BLESS YOU MUMMY ONION".Dont know where the onion comes into it but it never fails to make me smile.

DS and I have started rubbing noses which he finds hilarious. I know at nearly 5 he is really too old but I used to do it with DS1 and DS2 at age 2 and its just nice to feel that DS is following in their developmental footsteps even if 3 years behind. Its a lovely shared moment and in the dark days of him looking through me like I didn't exist and never calling me Mummy I never thought I would have these moments with him. it is such an achievement that he not only tolerates me being up close, silly and affectionate but enjoys it and responds.

Putting them to bed.

TraitorsAreComing · 01/11/2011 20:51

Actually I do love bedtime. DS all pink-cheeked, warm and chatty, reading his stories and being all kissy and cuddly

MangoMonster · 01/11/2011 20:52

Sneezing or pretending to is one of Ds's favourites! As is rubbing noses! :)

Tonight DS just said something totally silly in broad Edinburgh (he has this very odd, posh English accent) 'He can't even do that, eh no Mummy?' and it sounds ridiculous but it was so 'normal'. And I remembered my DM correcting me endlessly for saying 'eh no Mummy?' and just fell about laughing. Poor DH and DS had no clue why, bless Grin

Babblefish · 01/11/2011 22:14

New one for DS..... rahhhhhhhh will get back a rahhhhhh. Love new sounds

intothewest · 01/11/2011 22:22

I just have to pretend to mistake something for something else .eg :DS's nose(point to his mouth) or Pick up teddy and say 'DS's rabbit'...the more/sillier the better. He laughs and laughs (he has a GREAT laugh !!!!!) Grin Grin

spiritsam · 01/11/2011 22:25

Rubbing noses too and tickles :) x

I love just sitting and watching my son on the beach. He stands in the water and shuts his eyes and has such a contented look about himself. Till he goes blue that is Grin

Our favourite job together is gardening and painting. White wash the walls every year and we make a right meal of it and get as messy as we can and our dog joins in too and then we play lets find the dogs spots under the paint Grin
