Hi i have read bits about aspergers in children but would love more info from another parent of a child with aspergers,my son is 12yrs and after years of problems my new support worker has suggested aspergers,my son is on a waiting list for an assessment.

I agree that the anger thing is probably a way of coping with anxiety - I am only just beginning to realise this now and it is helping all the family deal with it. The more prepared and reassured DS2 can be about any changes or unexpected occurences, the better. I've had to develop a very thick skin too - I am regularly reminded by DS2 that I am "the worst mummy ever" Smile

Anger is the easier emotion for my ds,if we go for a day out(we dont anymore) he gets over excited and then gets very angry because he cant cope with the level of excitement,i dont think its worth bothering with the school, they have let me down, they have only seen his behaviour since may and know he is waiting for assessment so i agree it is better to look at other schools, thanks for the links, will look at them now,i dont know what i would do without the support you are all giving me,thank you so much.

The checklist is amazing. My DS has HF ASD so I haven't ever really explored AS, but I obviously should as 90% of that checklist applied.
