Had a meeting today with DD1's teacher, SENCo and advicory teacher

Got there thinking it was just a meeting about equiment etc but it turned out to be a full on meeting about her behaviour, learning difficulties and her eductaion needs. Was told that she had got the ear marked pupil funding which will give the school an extra 3 hours support whoopy-do!! BUT they are now talking about statementing her and it seems that everyone is willing to fight this battle

Good to read that everyone is working towards the same ends.

I would strongly urge you to now write to the LEA in question requesting that your child is assessed. The onus is however, very much on you to request the statement. Do not leave it to school to ask for such an assessment, it needs to come from you.
