Currently my ds gets mrc with no mobility component. Due to ongoing issues, throwing himself on the ground, refusing to walk etc I've asked for a review as he maybe entitled to some mobility. I got a letter to say, not to expect any response till after 8 weeks has passed. Will ge still continue to get his existing payments for mrc in the meantime?

It's good that you have what sounds like a decent enough SW Cal. From my experience they're pretty thin on the ground!
I would get her to write a report anyway. For some reason the DLA seem to value a SW's report highly.
Wouldn't bother getting mine to do one, she's crap! They'd end up taking everything away if she got involved!

yeah i guess im lucky that way. she has been really good. finding lots of support, telling me what im entitled to and helping. she also played a big part in getting him his school placement, as he didnt have a statement in education board where useless, said i should have got him a place at a mainstream school? yet when his statement was finally done, said ms wasnt suitable, and his iq was in below the bottom 2% for his age.

ok, so dla put a payment in my account today, havent recieved a letter yet. but it looks like low rate mobility. now they only got the paperwork on 28th june, and had it reviewed and letter posted to me on 15th july. they obviously didnt contact his paed ( shes on hols ) or his teacher ( schools fininshed for summer ) . spoke to sw, and she wasnt happy, she believes hes entitled to high rate mobility. so going to meet someone from the carers association, there gonna take a look at the original claim, plus the review, and see if theres grounds for an appeal. so i will keep you posted/
