Come on guys -I need you to help me compile a list to share with everyone who thinks ADHD is just about being a wild savage running amok in the streets and swinging from lamposts.

I'll start ........

Without having ADHD I am pretty sure my DS wouldnt be as sporty as he is. (He is as yet unbeaten in any sprint style race since nursery - he's now 11) ..... come on, your turn........

I agree.............well it's 2 mins to go, no txt, no dd.

r3dh3d you sound to me like you have survived childhood and lived to tell the tale - I never thought in a million years I would say this but I am envious of you. They are really great qualities to have - thank you for sharing that. I am begining to appreciate that being a non-conformist in so many areas needent be such a bad thing after all. I am thinking that adulthood is easier than childhood with ADHD ?

cornsilks ......... i am spluttering into my coco with indignation !!!!! WHY, WHY, WHY are the professionals so ignorant ???? If these people working with out kids have no idea what they are dealing with what chance have we got with Jo Public ? I have to admit I have a friend/distant relative who has been working with a chid with ADHD for 2 years now as a TA and she was horrified when I told her it was a wiring problem in the brain - so looked at me and said "so he was born with it then?" - I am not sure if she thought her charge had caught ADHD from an infected toilet seat of something - I took a very deep breath and gave her a brief tutorial in ADHD (what I have learnt so far) - she was astounded ...... and I have to say, so was I. What do we have to do to educate the educators ?

AAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !

My DS's previous SENCO couldnt co-ordinate .... urm .... lets just say ..... happy hour in a drinking establishment ! DS hasnt been referred to the current SENCO at his current school as his teacher scoffed "the senco is just for children for special educational needs" -Obviously ADHD doesnt fall under the heading of Social, Emotional and Behavioural Problems then !!!!!!! Silly me !

Devientenigma -good news on the return of your loved one - The whole "long tales and the trouble other people cause" is sounding so familiar it made me laugh out loud -

Smile people, we have survived another day. Goodnight all, thanks for all your help . . . smiling as I shutdown for the night x x x

Oh yes [lightbulb emoticon] a whizz at all things electronic, computers - builds them himself - reads tons of books hence great vocabulary, endless curosity about things (bit OT at times!). Interesting to talk to and informative too! Very caring and sensitive (surprises me quite often)

Quite a short list, the other list would be incredibly long though!!!
