DS1 has just turned 7 and since he was 2 we knew he was different. Things have been getting progressively worse and the last 2 months have been hell. We are awaiting to see Dr Kelsall at PGH but a lot of people I have spoken to (including MH Professionals) have intimated Aspergers.
Can anyone offer any advice, know of any special clubs offering support or just help to reassure us?

Today has been particyularly bad as I've been called to remove him fomr school once again. He now has to serve another exclusion. The GP is trying to get the assessment earlier - not until end of August and SS say it is just out of their remit.

Thank you in advance

so sorry your going through a terrible time at the moment my ds is ASD & dyspraxic and as he was just getting worse and worse at coping in MS hes now in SS and (cross fingers) getting better we to started really noticing differences at about 2yo.
you can see if the ASD SS near you has a parents club ,and look on the NAS website for information and sometimes they have clubs near you that you can go to yourself for support and some eg: local cinemas sometimes do a show of a kids film for kids with SN, so you dont have to feel awkward and uncomfortable being moaned at by onlookers, also 360 play (softplay) do a day about once a month specifically for kids with AS/ASD in my area.
you might like help with the dx and LA parent partnership, or some other mediation service should be in your area to go to appointments / meetings with you or help with the LA they will help draft letters and fill forms with you if you need it as it can be daunting at first.
of course keep popping in and out of sn on here for support and advice theres always someone here 24/7 to answer.most of us have been there and my DS certainly has some exclusions whils awaiting DX so i know how worrying that can be but just try and relax one thing i did do as we suspected AS/ASD was asked the ASD SS if they could send A team Teacch AS to the school to give them advice once a week which helped them with ideas , tactics ect , have the school found him a nice quiet space for when hes upset/stressed?
