ds1 has come home with some work to do and a book to read (fine) and is talking about doing something called "switch on"

Never heard of it.
Never been mentioned at school.
No ds1 is doing it!

Tried googling it and nothing.

Will make an appt to speak to teacher tomorrow, but wondered if any of you knew what the hell it is/supposed to do??

Thanks!

There is a programme at DS's school but I don't know what it's called. Any pupils with SEN (I think about 12 do it), do a 10 min physical programme in the hall in the morning at reg time, they do exercises on mats in the hall. I have spoken to one mom whose DS does it, and I wonder if it will be offered to DS2 when he starts there. It's meant to stimulate the brain before they go in to the class and start learning I think. Could it be this?

diet There is no physical component AFAIK...he told me he sees Mrs and they read and do literay work and he comes home with a sentance he has written/come up with that is cut up and he has to stick it in a book in the right order????

Its his IEP review next month so I will bring it up then.

Maybe it's just something they have adapted to help your DS achieve an IEP target, sequencing words or stories? Sounds fun! There's a reading and literacy intervention we do at my school called Catch Up and it sounds similar to that. Not exactly the same, but similar. Linky
