It has been suggested that ds has ADHD and I am arranging for a referral with the dr at the moment. In the meantime can anyone recommend a good book or any web sites that might be worth my reading? Many thanks.

Www.adders.org is a good website with good forum and lots of info on there. The Syndrome Mix is a good read explains about other disorders as well that can be co-morbid with ADHD.

TBH I never found any amazing books on the subject. I read a few, but didn't learn a great deal. There are, however, many good websites and over the past few years I think I've been through them all. Chundle's suggestions is one, although I wouldn't look into co-morbids yet, unless they've been or are suggested to you by the paediatrician. There are hundreds of websites pretty much repeating the others. You'll become an expert on the subject in a short time. Some websites I've used are: www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Attention-deficit-hyperactivity-disorder/Pages/Introduction.aspx and www.hacsg.org.uk/ and www.rcpsych.ac.uk/mentalhealthinfo/mentalhealthandgrowingup/adhdhyperkineticdisorder.aspx and www.adhdsolutions.org.uk/ an article here www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/feb/04/adhd-diet-food-children-behaviour

I strongly believe in restricting certain foods for kids with adhd symptoms. My son doesn't have any artificial additives in his diet and little sugar (no artificial sweeteners!!). We also use Omega 3,6 & 9 supplements - I feel they've made a difference for him.

I came across this article from the New York Times a a year or so ago, ADHD In-Depth Report which many seem to favour, it is one of many links I have regarding ADHD in my Delicious online links account, some of which you may find interesting
