DS has to say a 'line' in assembly tomorrow...

His Y1 class (in mainstream school) are doing the assembly and Alex (the only child in his class with significant SN) has been given the task of saying 'NEWS FLASH'! (Have no idea why!)

We have been practising. He is not very reliable.. he tends to say what he wants, when he wants.. and is not awfully good at 's' or 'sh' sounds so it comes out a very nasal 'Noo Flaa'... lol. But still pleased that he is taking part!

Ahhhh, bless him! I'm sure he'll bring a tear to your eye tomorrow - let us know how he gets on. x

You'll definitely need a tissue, whatever the line. Ds1 once had to read out a shopping list in assembly (no idea why!) and I still ended up snivelling away.

I won't actually be there! It's just a normal assembly that his class are leading.. parents not invited.. but I'm sure they'll tell me how he got on in his home/school book.

That's not fair. At ds1's school they send a letter home to parents saying "Your child has been chosen to take part in an assembly on Friday. You are invited to join us."

What a shame you won't be able to watch, can't your peer in through a window My ds had the words "Sports centre", I was so proud.

That's really cute... I bet he'll be fine on the day.

I went to slimming club at DS's school and saw his class practising before the assembly.. I was discreetly peering through the window on the doors to the hall. His one-to-one came out to see me and said that he had done the rehearsal really well - he just had to do it again for the real thing in an hour!

Then when I was in the slimming club room, the one-to-one brought him in with his new Kay
walker which I hadn't seen yet. When he saw me he said 'Mummeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!', let go of the walker and walked about 6 steps into my arms (He does this quite often now.. but all the ladies there to get weighed were oohing and aahing over him like they had witnessed a miracle.. lol! )
