my ds went to the ASD playscheme today. First time, (for 5 -7yrs, he is 4.5) I was so anixous I felt sick when I dropped him off, kept checking my phone...he had a lovely time! No problems at all (well, wet pants cos they believed him when he said 'no' to a toilet visit, but they now know 'don't take no for an answer' Wink)

No tears, no melt downs, no escapes, Yippee and Yahoo, (he has of course done new things before, but they have always needed easing into over time.)

well done signlet!!!

Thats good to hear - I have just signed my DS (who is also 4) up to a playscheme being run by our local special school this summer and I too am worried about meltdowns.

Well done to your DS

Well done signlet! SS playschemes are ace. My DS went to one 2 weeks every summer for 3 years and they even took DS1 (NT) one year, when he was young enough. It was up to reception year only, unfortunately.
