would recommend you contact purplepidgin, dab hand with a needle....

Wow, I'm flattered! Devient just pm'd me this link on farcebook! Thank you sign Smile

I could try but I'd be worried that I'm not set up with my domestic machine to make something that bear that much weight. You need specialist equipment to sew high-tensile materials, and I wouldn't be confident that anything I made was safe.

I'm also a little bit Hmm about the picture that came up on google of a small child tied to a bed!

You might be better off with something like this?

tiredmummyneedswineandsleep · 26/02/2011 10:29

Thanks- don't worry it's not to tie him to the bed lol -i'm not that cruel, honest!

it's to keep him in a buggy he escapes them all and also in restaurant chairs etc!

not sure this will be of use, but have seen crelling harnesses recommended on here.

purplepidjin · 26/02/2011 12:03

What bigcar said ^^

I would steer clear of home-made stuff; you need something that's been constructed and tested properly or it's dangerous. Buggy manufacturers get it wrong sometimes, and they have huge resources!

I have used crelling harness with my dd when she was younger-travels in wheelchair now.Look then up on the internet and give them a call they are really helpfull and can often adapt harnesses. They are also really robust.

Try looking at www.fledglings.org.uk
Dining Chair Harness £14.95 or Totseat £20 - not sure if they will fasten child into buggy but will certainly fit onto restaurant chairs. They are a charity who try and source products for SN children which aren't easily available elsewhere - so if the standard items are no good, they may be able to get them adapted.
