A week off and more confusion

Ok so for those who don't know my story by little boy developed excellently up until the age of 3. Then his development stopped, then he regressed quickly. His behaviour is very autistic so he's somewhere on the spectrum, no eye contact, scared of social situations, obsessive behaviour, hand flapping, spinning etc etc. But his skills still regress. Well tbh they seem to come and go a lot. Sometimes he knows his colours hen another week he won't have a clue sowe work hard on them then he gains the skill again etc etc.

But during this week off I have noticed his physical skills are lacking now (which never happened before) he walks odd, he can't hold onto a swing, he bum shuffles down the stairs, crawls up them.

He has had an MRI scan (2 months ago) no results yet, he has had a chromosome blood test which failed go 'take' don't even know if/ when they will be able to get another one as they have to put him to sleep as he won't be touched. He has had an EEG test... Results lot I think.

I really don't know what to do other than to wait until 14th march when I get to see his paed and then probably be given excuses and sent for more tests

Sorry to hear you're going through such a confusing and worrying time. Do you have any idea of what your son might have? Childhood Disintegrative Disorder involves both features of autism and physical problems - has that been explored as a possibility?

Not a clue. All the neurologist said was some sort of neuro degenerate disorder and that if he had it he would die in childhood. Useful really to tell us that in September then leave us waiting

Thanks everyone :) it's good to come here and vent at people who understand and don't think it's useful to issue me some parenting advice (not that 'he just needs a smack' is classed as parenting advice in my book)
