Friday Night too tired for...

Tonight I am too tired to be arsed going to work tomorrow.

I'm guessing as no-one's started this yet that none of the "old crowd" are about at the moment Sad so I'll do a brief intro...

The "Friday Night" thread is for everyone with an SN kid stuck at home. Vent here if you've had a ruck with a head teacher, or bad news from an ed psych, or your little wonder has done something utterly spectacular that no one with an NT child would understand.

Pink wine is open, help yourselves Smile

sense toys catalogue?? oh no, something else I might want to buy! LOL

Sitting here idly, with glass of wine, watching Corrie. Been a few ups and downs this week. Looking forward to a family play session at a local centre for children with SNs next week. And took MIL out to lunch today with DH, DS2 and DS3. Think it gave MIL a first hand shot of some particular behaviours that DS2 doesn't often display in front of her (some good, some bad). This kind of thing goes so much further than just telling her as she still is baffled by it all (but in a nice way, bless her). She's an absolutely wonderful woman, just doesn't quite know what to think about the SNs.

A week without school runs... bliss....

to tired to tidy up the kitchen after cooking cake all day, house is a mess and i know dh will not be happy when he gets home at 9.30pm and finds it in a worse state then when he left this morning Grin.

At least dd1 is happy today (yesterday i could have walked out and left her), tonight they have both been angels and dd1 even played the wii without moaning about not winning. They are now both in bed (one asleep, one half asleep.

growlybear · 18/02/2011 20:06

DameEdnaBeverage · 18/02/2011 20:09

Yum - I love fudge Grin
Andpers - ds not had good time at school in last couple of weeks and been really anxious. Am hoping things will improve after half-term when lsa starts supporting him.
When will your ds start back at school? It must be a big relief. You're obviously a great fighter Wink

Al1son Great news - fingers crossed your ds gets the job!

purplepidjin · 18/02/2011 20:14

Evening :)

Skimmed the thread so far....if I read it all I may fall asleep, ds (nt) kept me up most of the night but was quite happy to go swimming this morning! Hmm DD seems to be coming along great with her speech, school and uni both teaching her now....I can really see the difference. She also has a bit of an obsession with a boy...has to chase him for 5mins before we go home. Grin
All too little to late as the big move is being planned....viewing a house monday...cross your fingers for us! DP is also interviewing for jobs again this week...eeek.

Purple makes lovely stuff! :)

andperseand · 18/02/2011 20:42

A1lison - great news about the job!

Dame Edna - sorry things still not good for DS - do hope new LSA helps. My DS has just done a few days' assessment, and then it will be a very slow reintegration after half term hopefully. It is a non-maintained SS and they can do all sorts of wonderful things like come to the house, give some support and advice for us too, and a very individual curriculum. DS finally has the chance he has needed so badly for so long. It will be slow and we have been advised things will get worse before better, but we have so much more hope now.

Have to go and see DS, he is fixating on needing to leave earth and live on another planet, alternating with asking for proof that God exists, and the anxiety goes up and up. Will have to leave you all to wine, chocolates etc. - may be back much later if I can.

coff33pot · 18/02/2011 20:52

Evening all! Good luck to your DH on the job interview Al1son :)

Mixed bag for me this week. DD with a sore throat and groaning A LOT bless DS has took it upon himself to be an extra special sister agrevator which is not helping matters. Good news is saw GP friday re referal to pead and low and behold got letter today that DS has got appointment for 2nd march :o Now just dawned on us that we need his little red book which is in possibly 1 of 25 boxes that I put away up loft whilst decorating so DH has been gently told that he has to do a search! I dont do lofts because I dont do creepies! :o

Down side found out today (well 3 hours ago) that my DD 21yrs has blood problems, too many red cells and its clotting. Turns out doc told her she could have a stroke any time so be careful till they find out what the hell is causing it. Lets just say I am not handling it very well as I dont like being powerless to help any of my kids. Just been out in the torrential rain and chopped the crap out of a tree that I was supposed to do in the summer. If the SS covered trees I would probably be done for tree cruelty lol but had to do something other than bang a few doors :o

Cup tea and chocs for me tonite as up early in morning although the nice bottle of black tower in the fridge is definately whispering my name.

Al1son · 18/02/2011 21:54

coff33pot tree chopping sounds very therapeutic. I once pumped up an airbag with a mental image of a specialist teacher under the handle. It inflated ever so quickly!

Hope they work out what's wrong with your DD really quickly.

andper please can we all leave earth with your DS and set up a SN friendly planet somewhere?

moosemama · 18/02/2011 22:03

Aaargh! I've just realised that I'd got my weeks mixed up.

For some unknown reason, I thought dh's party was the week after next. Its not - its next Saturday and that means I have a major size zombie climbing out of a grave - complete with headstone and much yuk and gore - birthday cake and 75, zombie related cupcakes to bake by Saturday afternoon at the latest AND ITS HALF TERM!

So I have all 3 dcs at home and I'm going to have to bake and ice pretty much back to back from Thursday onwards! Shock

That's without even thinking about the fact we have an unspecified number of friends sleeping on our floors/sofas for the weekend, which means I also have a major housework overhaul to do as well, while 3 little mess monkeys follow me around creating chaos in my wake. Hmm

AND my dress hasn't arrived - althought they have said it will definitely be here by Wednesday at the latest. Hmm

moosemama · 18/02/2011 22:05

Sorry Coff33, just read back and noticed your post. Hope your dd is ok.

I was reading something about too many red cells the other day when I was trying to find out what's up with ds2. I'll see if I can find it for you. If I do I'll pm you the link.

coff33pot · 18/02/2011 23:13

Thanks guys! Well I used to have a lot of trees :o but gardening is theraputic! not for trees tho lol. I used to say never let your mum brush your hair when she is angry! think I had race tracks down my head when I was a girl lol. Good job trees grow back eh? Calmer now so middle DDs head is safe in the morning! I also got this funny pic in my head of a wild woman attacking an airbag :o :o I used to play darts and I tell you what the game didnt half go well if you thought of someone you couldnt stand and imagine you were getting them right between the eyes Wink

Good luck with the baking. Can you not cheat and get plain buns and then do the clever fancy bits yourself? I usually cheat on the cake front and buy maderas for adults as make great bases and swiss rolls etc for kiddies then design after. Got a design for a wicked ginger tom lol Much better to do your own but when the pressure is on? :o

Hope the party goes well :)

Off to bed now as up early for shop and just nodded off watching eastenders on iplayer computer chair on wheels is not recommended when one is snoozing by the way, my DH wanted to know why I was facing wall with my head buried under the curtains :o.

Nite all have a good evening x

Al1son · 18/02/2011 23:42

FGS did I really type airbag? Serves me right for trying to MN while trying to ignore 7 year old DD pretending to be a puppy and barking louder and longer than any real dog!

I obviously meant airbed!

Loving the darts idea. I have a board in the loft and someone in mind for my next game.

Good luck with the cake Moose!

EllenJane1 · 19/02/2011 00:18

Is it only me but I don't really enjoy half terms. It takes so long for DS 2 to get used to the change in routine, he just gets to start relaxing and it's time to change routine back to school one again. Then a whole week of 'school should be banned, it's against the law, can I skip school, just for today?'

Pass me the chocolate please.

eandz · 19/02/2011 00:42

i'm here.

went to soo many nurseries today.

ran into too many perfect children today.

saw waaayyyy too happy mothers today.

and i just want my bitterness to go away, i'm not a bitter person.

i want this sadness to stop hovering over my days and my sons future.

i have no way to express the heaviness that has taken over my whole life. ugh.

signandsmile · 19/02/2011 07:07

eandz, it does get better, hang in there and be kind to self... (having to do that kind of stuff just 'rubs your nose in it' IYSWIM.)

Al1son good luck to dh!

coff33pot hope you got a good night. ds decided to wake up at 4.30, and I have work today, Sad am afriad am 'grumpy mummy' this morning. Had him in bed with me for a while but that just provided him with opportunities to play 'this little piggie' with my feet... Angry

I know many have much worse nights, Blush

auntevil · 19/02/2011 09:07

Morning ladies - just got up and read the thread.
Sounds like lots of well dones, congrats and yeahs to spread around. This is along with some OMGs and totally understand thats. Had to laugh at the tree chopping - that must be good therapy, unlike cake decorating.
eandz - it does get better, but you do get wobbles every now and then. I had one this week when i was so stressed getting ds to school i could have wept. He is a tall lad - 8 and nearly as tall as me. I had visions of battling a 7 foot giant trying to dress/organise/get moving for years - and years - and years. But then the thought goes, life goes on.
My news is that we got a puppy - a rather gorgeous chocolate lab. Chewing everything - pooing on paper - but peeing everywhere. We like long walks with the 3 DS - it will kind of give it more purpose now - and it means there's another female in the house!

coff33pot · 19/02/2011 20:33

Well opened my curtains this morn and OMG! the tree lol! or rather what tree. DH was very diplomatic and said "oooh! we have so much more light in the house now what an improvement!"...........I just cracked up laughing :o

Not a bad day today. My turn in shop which was well busy owing to half term but still feels like a rest from the madhouse :) DS has spent all day being tomb rader with my heeled boots on and a pair of kids binoculars and a wooden spoon tucked in his pants :o DH said that DS was convinced for some reason we had a gorilla upstairs as he heard a growl so DH had to explain the entire plumbing system in the house to convince him it was the hot water going through the pipes to the washing machine and to point out that as gorillas are so big we dont think we would miss him and would have been spotted by dad somehow lol

Auntevil the puppy sounds gorgeous! you will have loads of fun with it! our jack russel is 7 months old now and a great companion for DS they both spend all day charging up and down the house and outside.

bigcar · 19/02/2011 21:01

coff33 do you have enough wood now to build a log cabin in the garden Grin In our old house, dh had the dcs convinced we had a loft monster Hmm and when dr who came back on the telly, he told them that the loft monster was friends with the cybermen.

auntevil, hope you came downstairs to a more pleasant sight this morning, that's not good first thing is it?! You'll have to post a piccy for us to see, of the puppy obviously, not the wee and poo on the floor Grin
