tom cross country stroller (tandem)

Has anyone had one of these and what are they like? DS2 had an appointment with wheelchair services this week and they were really negative about them, saying they were really awkward and heavy. I need a double so that ds3 can go in as well. I'm currently using a phil and teds sport but apparantly that doesn't have enough support for DS2 and he needs bilateral support (think that's right) which normal buggies don't have. Can someone tell me they are not that bad? I wish I could try one out before we shell out a small fortune (we have to pay for the difference in price between the single tom cross country stroller and the tandem) on a buggy.

how old is ds3? could you use the buggy pod till hes/shes an older toddler-it can attach on the side of a wheelchair/SEN buggy. The new one carries up to age 4yo aprox and relines for a new/younger baby. just a thought. we had a tom a few years ago-very very heavy then, good support but v heavy. sorry

highly recommend a mountian buggy :)

Thankyou. The mountain buggy doesn't have the right support for DS2 and not sure if the buggy pod would work or if the paths where we live are too narrow. I'll have to go and measure the path (in the dead of night so the neighbours won't laugh) Blush

is this the one you were looking at? I looked at it at kidz up north-its not as heavy as our old TOM-newer design and lighter materials etc. I think its a good option but expensive. You may be able to get funding from BDF Newlife or Cauldwell children etc.
