Not sure, but I do have a question regarding the balance bikes. DS2 just does not get the whole "pedaling" thing at all. He's 4. We've tried and but he simply cannot focus on pedaling AND looking ahead at the same time.

Are the balance bikes easier for children to use?

DD didn't get pedallling OR balance bikes until she was about 6. Sometimes balance bikes are easier but worth trying out in the shop as she simply couldn't balance at 4. (She has ASD, no particular motor skills issues).

ah, ok thank you. Good idea about trying it out in shop. DS2 has ASD, ADHD, and motor skills issues, so riding a bike is a bit of a juggle for him anyway. We've got stabilisers on his bike, but he just cannot seem to figure it out no matter how we try to help him with it. And only one thing at a time - steering, pedaling, or looking where he is going. And then only sporadically.

I'm never letting him drive a car when he gets older.... at least not mine! LOL Grin

Balance bike worked for DD1 who has asd, until she was 6!
