My ds formally got a dx of ADHD yesterday. Funny really, I could feel a huge knot slowly untying in my gut. I wasn't upset or afraid for him ... just relieved. School were informed today and they have been amazing "Let's get the ball rolling" was his teachers response. He hasn't been offered medication as they didn't feel he didn't warrant it. I haven't told him what he has, just explained they were going to try and help him stay glued to his chair ... he thought that was hilarious. The paed was lovely. she commented how bright and happy he seemed, which was great cos he has been miserable in the past. He also sat through the 2 hour assessment with shorts breaks .... he had to virtually sit on his hands to stop the fidgeting
