The useless school nurse who tells me to put on a relaxing cd for my deaf child to go to sleep to.

And the other so called professionals who have seen my child for about a total of 5 hrs in 1 yr and think they are the oracle on him and totally ignore me and make me feel inconsiquential.

Any others wish to join in?

without being unsympathetic at how frustrating it must be to deal with that nurse - I am sat here giggling away at her advice...

some people are just thick

bettyboop63 · 08/02/2011 12:33

ROFL what the heck can you say to that wow her years as a school nurse are not wasted hey Grin

wendihouse22 · 08/02/2011 12:38

She's a buffoon.

How do these people get qualified? It's beyond me!

Good god! silly woman! :o

ouryve · 08/02/2011 13:29

Is that the same school nurse who suggested I let my 2 boys with ASD run around a field to burn off some energy?

willowthecat · 08/02/2011 13:47

Or the one who said ds1 should sing 'Frere Jaques' to encourage language development then looked baffled when I questioned if French was really right for a severely English language delayed child.

bigbluebus · 08/02/2011 13:53

Perhaps said nurse could get a job at our SN holiday club which put my Registered blind/hearing impaired daughter in front of a TV watching DVD's for entertainment!

auntevil · 08/02/2011 13:58

Must admit - i had a laugh too. Are you sure she is of a human persuasion? There's always some news article of alien invasions - you may have found an example? Wink

bigcar · 08/02/2011 16:09

pmsl, what did you say to that?! Grin priceless

along bigbluebus' theme, the school that keep telling me my dd3 can see because she sits on the floor with the other dcs when they have the smart board on, no, she's trying to be sociable, she's looking that direction because everyone else is. At least with being at a hi base they have the hearing sorted!

Thecarrotcake · 08/02/2011 16:22

Oh .. It's the same woman who said that ds would behave better if he would talk to her about his feelings or that I should head off a tantrum by using a sudden change of routine to suprise him! < faints>

for anyone who is new to the hoard.. Ds. Has ASD!

bettyboop63 · 08/02/2011 16:41

lol@carrot im sure most of these so called "profeshionals" get their degrees ect out of a cerial packet

Al1son · 08/02/2011 16:56

How about the teacher who was concerned that my daughter with ASD didn't think about the effect her need for so much support was having on the other children in the class?

borderslass · 08/02/2011 16:59

Wonder if its the same one who told us all DS needed at 4 was my 100% attention at all times despite the DD's being 3 and 7 at the time.

newname0601 · 08/02/2011 18:07

It must be the same school nurse that we've all encountered. Either that or they were all trained in the same place.

I told her where she could shove her relaxing CD and that if she could be bothered to read the notes on my ds she would know that this wasn't a sensible suggestion. I then told her that she was in no position to lecture me on the rights and wrongs of moving my ds from school to another one because she knows nothing about the situation what so ever. She then told me that we would still be having the CAF where we could talk so I told that we wouldn't still be having the CAF and there was nothing left to be said. She then complained that meant calling all professionals and she didn't have time so I told her I would call everyone. Needless to say I've probably got a black mark by my name now but I couldn't give a monkeys, I've had enough of all of them.

I honestly was not in the right mood to be dealing with any trumped up so called professional today. I'm ill with all this stress and if it hadn't been her who got the tirade it would have been someone else. I'm still ranting!!

Newname.. Sod having a black mark against your name.. You are much better off organising and heading these things... Seriously .. That way you know what is going on, when and who.... Tis far better than chasing your tail and getting stressed at others not being on the ball.... And let's face it you are the best person to do the job.

twlight · 08/02/2011 18:50

OMG they are cloned - or we all have the same one.

Newname, sorry your stressed, and don't worry about your black mark - they probably can't read my name due to all the black marks - just do what you think is right x

wraith · 09/02/2011 15:51

just fill a bus with all these idiots and send it hurtling towards a cliff see if there degrees can get them out of it. seriously thats bad music cd to help a deaf child sleep...

its like they go through the motions and have a checklist to follow without thinking if thats applicable.

good luck

loulou77 · 09/02/2011 16:54

it might have to be a convoy of coaches...to get off they have to go through an assessmnent process where we blatantly ignoreconsider their needs and write reports on them that suggest they might benefit from a sign on the road saying "Warning, cliff face ahead" and a rope...they have to appeal at every stage to get more provision needed to get off the coaches before they plummet over the cliff...we could call it "SEN Speed"

Ineedalife · 09/02/2011 17:17

Make sure there is room for Dd3's HT/senco on the coach going over the cliff, she is seriously driving me bonkers at the moment she told me I need to stop talking to my Dd3 about her emotions and she told CAMHS that Dd3 has a good imagination and is good at creative writing, AAARRRGGG.
